On Wednesday 30th April, 2008, Otago NORML's mystery engineer gave a demonstration of how to prepare harm-minimising delivery implements that allow consumers to reduce the hazards of smoking. The Pipe and Bong making demonstration was part of the Spiritual and Recreational Use of Cannabis Workshop, which was held as part of the first annual Otago University Cannabis Awareness Week. The demonstration was held in the Otago University Union building, next to the cafeteria.
